Over 20 years ago, Gary Player established The Player Foundation in order to provide quality education, nutrition, medical care and extra-curricular activities to the less fortunate children living in rural areas of South Africa. Today, through several annual events staged in the USA, Asia, the UK and South Africa, the foundation has expanded its charitable efforts to support underprivileged children's education globally. Proceeds from the 2006 Gary Player Invitational at Wentworth will be allocated to satisfy the critical needs of schools in poverty-stricken communities.
The Gary Player Foundation is headquartered in Palm Beach, Florida and operates as a 501 C (3) non-profit organization.

MaAfrika Tikkun implements a wide range of community-initiated and community-driven projects that give the broadest possible access to healthcare, training, education and opportunities to disadvantaged people in South Africa.
We train and support communities to offer their own palliative health care and offer assistance for orphans and vulnerable children, which includes counseling, life skills development, after-school clubs for youth, and self-sustaining feeding schemes.
MaAfrika Tikkun also builds sustainable community centers for community activity, training and social enterprise, both in the Gauteng and Western Cape areas of South Africa
